The situation:
Kawartha Dairy wanted to expand its ice-cream business. They frequently ran out of product in the summer, and their manufacturing was, at times, chaotic. They were uncertain of the correct size of warehouse to build.
Our Response:
Crawford provided the expertise for the client to develop a 5-year marketing plan. The company embraced the marketing study with enthusiasm. New products were added and low-use products were dropped. Crawford also hired a warehouse consultant to develop the optimum size of the warehouse to fit the 5-year plan.
The Result:
The company’s bottom line improved. They developed a disciplined approach to their sales objectives. They built a 4,000 sq.m. (43,000 sq. ft.) warehouse which eliminated their out of stock situations.
